Pregnancy & Post Natal Support
Perinatal Depression
Perinatal Depression (previously called Post Natal depression) is a new term which covers the period from conception through to when the child turns 1 year old. This can be a very difficult and stressful time for parents. Elizabeth provides individual counselling sessions for women (and their partners) to assist them with gaining an understanding of what perinatal depression is, building a sense of confidence and competence, dispelling the “myths” of motherhood and reducing the symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Non Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling
Elizabeth also provides a service called Non Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling. This type of counselling is again offered to women (and their partners) as a way of allowing clients to explore any concerns that they may have about a current pregnancy, or a pregnancy that has occurred in the preceding 12 months. This counselling offers, upon request, unbiased, evidence based information about all options and services available.
